Zlatibor in the colors of joy, true values and learning
The delegation of the Development center for youth continues its stay at the DEKI5 camp in Zlatibor from July 20 to 26, as part of its successful cooperation with the team of our celebrated football player Dejan Stanković. The fourth session of the camp this year brings together 90 children from different parts of the region and remains much more than just a sports gathering. It is a space for unity, growth and learning through play.
The Development center’s presence at the camp is part of the activities within the project “Life Champions 3.0: every child has the right to be a champion” as part of the broader “Life Champions” concept. For the seventh year in a row, it brings the message that sport can and must be a tool for education, empowerment and inclusion of children. During their stay, the Development center’s representatives observe the implementation of activities, talk to children and coaches, exchange experiences with organizers and support the overall educational aspect of the camp.

As in previous years, special emphasis is placed on promoting positive values such as fair play, respect, equality and team spirit. These values are embedded daily into the sports activities at the camp because, as the participants themselves say, this is not just training for goals it is training for life.
“Something much greater than a football game is being built at this camp. This is where characters are shaped, friendships are formed, and children learn mutual respect and understanding. Through sports, children develop responsibility and self-confidence, while also discovering how important it is to be a good person. We are proud to be part of a team that believes in the power of sport as a tool for positive change in society, and proud to once again send the message from the field that every child has the right to be a champion,” said Aleksandra Knežević, program director of the Development center for youth.

This initiative is part of the project “Life Champions 3.0: every child has the right to be a champion”, implemented with the support of the UEFA Foundation for children. The goal is to build a more inclusive and better society through sport, because our ultimate aim remains clear, sport must be a space of equal opportunities for all.
